Qantas’ fifth A380, MSN027 (F-WWSY), has reemerged from the hangers after having its emergency slides installed, and should restart engine tests today, making its first flight within the next 7-14 days.
Qantas’ sixth A380, MSN029 (F-WWSA), has been outside since it left the FAL in mid-February. We have since found out that when MSN027 and MSN029 were in the FAL, their tails were switched due to damage caused by a hail strike last year to what was then MSN027′s tail. This is why some parts of MSN029′s tail are now black.
In other news, the next convoy for MSN028 has been delayed – updates to come.
