Very little news this week on the A380 front. MSN023 (F-WWST) will probably be transfered to Hamburg soon. MSN040 (F-WWSE) and MSN007 (F-WWJB) will move to the next stages of production, engine tests within the next 14 days. In Hamburg it is still MSN021 on the flightline. MSN034 should be coming out of the paint hangers this week to. The next covoy is due to start tomorrow.

Final Assembly Line Update: Late April 2009

A couple of people I know did the FAL tour in late April and has given me the updates. So here is the current status of the A380 halls.

In J.L Lagardere Post 30A: MSN050 (No Registration) for Qantas Airlines has currently two pylons attached but no engines installed. Flaps are currently being attached. This will become VH-OQH

In J.L Lagardere Post 30B: MSN025 (No Registration) for Emirates has currently all pylons and flaps systems installed.  Engines have yet to be installed but they are sitting in the hall waiting to be installed. Leading edge spine panels of the tail have been removed to reveal spars. Should be next to come onto flightline. To become A6-EDH.

In J.L Lagardere Post 30C: MSN047 (No Registration) for Qantas Airlines with new colour scheme on tail. Has currently all pylons and flap systems installed but no engines installed and none were seen in the hall. Leading edge spine panels of the tail have been removed to reveal spars. To become VH-OQG.

Other aircraft noted in halls but could not tell which area they were situated. MSN043 has got pylons attached but not flap systems. This will be move to post B or C after one or the other will leave. To become F-HPJC. MSN038 for Lufthansa has got pylons aligned to be installed but did have a lot of machinery around it so could not see much. To become D-AIMA. MSN028 for Emirates was seen but very little work has been done to it. To become A6-EDI. MSN051 for Singapore Airlines has finished body join and is sitting waiting to be finished. To become 9V-SKK. MSN041 is currently sitting waiting for body join. To become D-AIMB.

So next to come out will be most likely MSN025 or MSN047 hopefully in mid May or sooner.

The tail for the second A380 for Lufthansa (MSN041) arrived in Toulouse today and like the first Lufthansa tailI think it is the best looking one yet out of the current airlines. This will be delivered Q1 or Early Q2 2010.
