A380 Production Update: March 2009 (#5)

A380 Releated Links, Avalon, Convoy, Emirates, MSN027, MSN045, Qantas, Singapore Airlines | Posted by Oliver Gigacz

Well, it looks as though the A380s were not grounded. We know that Qantas still has all three in service. One landed this evening in Avalon (YMAV), a Qantas maintenance base, but it could be for the upcoming Australian International Airshow held there. Emirates and Singapore also still have all their A380s in service.

On the production side, there is still little news. Like MSN045, MSN027 was moved back into the sheds to have its escape slides installed. MSN028 for Emirates will be the next frame convoyed March 9-12.

Some big news today – we’ve had some great pictures sent in.

Qantas’ sixth A380, MSN029 (F-WWSA), just emerged from the hangers almost complete and with its engines attached. It will fly in March, and be delivered in Q3.
It looks as though both Emirates’ MSN023 (F-WWST) and MSN025 (F-WWSV) are in the FAL. MSN023 has at least two engines attached, while MSN025 has none and looks like it needs quite a bit of work done. Both will be delivered in Q3 2009. The first photo is MSN023, and the second is MSN025.
And finally, the second A380 for Air France, MSN040 (F-WWSE), can be seen here in the FAL. It will be delivered in November 2010.
