Yesterday, Qantas’s tenth A380 (MSN062) performed her first and ferry flight from Airbus’s Toulouse A380 plant.

This was the first A380 ferry flight in over a month and confirms the rumors that MSN062 was to overtake MSN052 (Air France #5), MSN064 (Air France #6) and MSN065 (Singapore Airlines #13).

MSN062 only spent twenty three days on the flightline prior to her first flight, which beats the previous record (Held by MSN045) by two days.

Yesterday, Air France’s sixth A380 (MSN064) performed her first flight. This was no ordinary first flight, in fact it marked a major milestone for the A380 program. MSN064 just happens to be the fiftieth A380 constructed.

All of us here at A380 Production would like to congratulate Airbus and everyone involved in the A380 program on getting to this milestone.

Both MSN064 and MSN052 (Air France #5) will be stored in Toulouse until a spot opens up in the outfitting bays in Hamburg.

A lot of people have been asking us, “what is going on with Air France’s fifth A380 (MSN052)?”.

Well to tell you the truth, we have no idea. She was rolled out in late May and has been on the flightline or the flightline hangars ever since. The latest schedule still states it will be transferred to Hamburg in August, But we wouldn’t be surprised if it slipped into September/October.
