A380 Production Update: February 2012 (#1)

Thai Airways’ second A380 (MSN093) has been confirmed as the new frame being carried on Convoy #03/2012.

Only the wings and tailplane are being carried in the convoy, with the remaining components scheduled to arrive later this month.

Once delivered, she will carry registration HS-TUB.

Thai Airways’ first A380 (MSN087) has now completed final assembly, and is expected to perform engine tests within the next month.

Emirates’ twenty-ninth A380 (MSN110) has been confirmed as the new frame being carried on Convoy #02/2012.

Only the wings and tailplane are being carried in the convoy, with the remaining components scheduled to arrive in February.

Once delivered in Q4 2012, she will carry registration A6-EEC.

Malaysia Airlines’ fourth A380 (MSN089) has been confirmed as the new frame being carried on Convoy #01/2012.

Once delivered in Q4 2012, she will carry registration 9M-MND.

Yesterday, Airbus announced thirty-one A380 convoys for the coming year.

The dates highlighted in blue are subject to change. If thirty-one convoys do take place in 2012, it will be the most successful year yet.

Currently, only the wings and tailplane are being convoyed, with the rest of the body scheduled to arrive later in the month.

Emirates will take delivery of MSN107 in Q4 2012.

Emirates’ twenty-fifth A380 (MSN106) has been confirmed as the new frame being carried on Convoy #22/2011.

Currently, only the wings and tailplane are being convoyed, with the rest of the body scheduled to arrive in early December.

Emirates will take delivery of MSN106 in Q3 2012.

China Southern’s fourth A380 (MSN088) has been confirmed as the new frame being carried on Convoy #21/2011.

Thai Airways’ first A380 (MSN087) has been confirmed as the new frame carried on Convoy #20/2011.

Only the wings were transferred on the convoy, with the remaining components scheduled to arrive in early November.

Delivery to the airline will be in the third quarter of 2012.
