Earlier today, Emirates’ twenty-eighth A380 (MSN109) performed her first (and ferry) flight.

She landed in Hamburg at approximately 14:35 local time.

Delivery to the airline is scheduled for Q4 2012.

Late last week, Emirates’ twenty-eighth A380 (MSN109) began engine and taxi tests.

She is expected to perform her first flight in the next few days.

Delivery to the airline is scheduled for Q4 2012.

A380 Production Update: April 2012 (#11)

Friday saw the first and ferry flight of Emirates’ twenty-sixth A380 (MSN107).

We mentioned earlier in the week that MSN107 was overtaken by her sister ship (MSN108), but as the latter remained in Toulouse, MSN107 was reinstated as Emirates’ twenty-sixth A380.

Yesterday, Emirates’ twenty-eighth (MSN109) began engine and taxi testing.

She is scheduled to perform her first flight early next week.

Delivery to Emirates is scheduled for Q4 2012.

A380 Production Update: April 2012 (#9)

Yesterday, Emirates’ twenty-seventh A380 (MSN108) performed her first flight.

After spending a few hours over the south of France, she returned to Toulouse, and is currently sitting on the flightline.

She has overtaken her sister ship MSN107, also scheduled to take to the air in a few days.

Yesterday, Emirates’ twenty-ninth A380 (MSN110) completed final assembly and was towed to the flightline.

Yesterday, Emirates’ twenty-sixth A380 (MSN106) was ferried to Hamburg for cabin outfitting and painting.

Last week, we reported that MSN106 experienced engine problems several minutes into her first fight, and that the crew decided to end the test flight, returning to Toulouse without incident.

Airbus cleared MSN106 to return to flight testing on Monday.

Yesterday, Emirates’ twenty-fifth A380 (MSN106) performed her first flight.

The flight lasted less than thirty minutes due to an engine issue. We cannot determine the exact problem, but will update the article as soon as we know more.

A380 Production Update: April 2012 (#3)

Delivery of Emirates’ twenty-second A380 (MSN101) has been delayed two weeks due to an electrical fault found in the cabin lighting system.

Originally scheduled for delivery on April 5th, MSN101 will now be delivered to Emirates on April 20th. The cause of the lighting system fault is currently being investigated.

She will wear A6-EDV as her civilian registration.

A380 Production Update: March 2012 (#14)

Earlier this week, Emirates’ twenty-eighth A380 (MSN109) completed final assembly and was towed to the flightline.

She took just eleven weeks to complete assembly, and has been assigned test registration F-WWSN.

Delivery to the airline is scheduled for Q4 2012.
