A380 Production Update: May 2012 (#5)

Earlier today, Malaysia Airlines’ first A380 (MSN078) was ferried to Toulouse in preparation for delivery.


At the time of posting, MSN078 was still in the air, with Toulouse as her destination on the flight plan.

She will wear civilian registration 9M-MNA, and will be delivered to Malaysia Airlines in mid-June.

A380 Production Update: April 2012 (#7)

Yesterday, Malaysia Airlines’ first A380 (MSN078) began her post-outfitting taxi tests.


She was originally scheduled to perform a “Rejected Take-Off” test, but it was postponed until tomorrow.

Late last week, Malaysia Airlines’ fourth A380 (MSN089) completed final assembly and was moved to the flightline.


She took just ten weeks to complete assembly, the fastest time yet for a Malaysia Airlines frame.

She has been assigned test registration F-WWAN.

Delivery to the airline is scheduled for Q4 2012.

Yesterday, Malaysia Airlines’ first A380 (MSN078) emerged from the hangars in her new colors.


A few touches still need to be added, and painting is expected to be completed next week.

She will carry civil registration 9M-MNA.

A380 Production Update: February 2012 (#5)

Yesterday, Malaysia Airlines’ third A380 (MSN084) completed final assembly and was towed to the flightline.


She took eighteen weeks to complete assembly (the longest time yet for a Malaysia frame), likely due to the delay installing engine number four.

Once delivered, she will carry registration 9M-MNC.

A380 Production Update: January 2012 (#11)

Yesterday, Malaysia Airlines’ second A380 (MSN081) performed her first flight.


She only spent an hour in the air before returning to Toulouse, but was ferried to Hamburg later in the day.

Once delivered, she will carry civil registration 9M-MNB.

A380 Production Update: January 2012 (#6)

Malaysia Airlines’ fourth A380 (MSN089) has been confirmed as the new frame being carried on Convoy #01/2012.

Only the wings and tailplane are being carried in the convoy, with the remaining components scheduled to arrive later in the month.

Once delivered in Q4 2012, she will carry registration 9M-MND.
