April Summery

More action this month as the production line is speeding up to meet 2009 and 2010 deliveries. I’ve simplified ( improved ? ) the categories shown here.

Major movements were ;

MSN017-EK delivered
MSN027-QF and MSN29-QF flew to XFW
MSN041-LH and MSN051-SQ convoy to TLS

Current situation ( end March figures in brackets )

In service 14 ( 13 )

In production ;
At XFW for outfitting and painting 8 ( 7 )
At TLS for assembly/refit 13 ( 13 )
Parts building 14 ( 11 )

Not yet started / postponed 12 ( 17 )

Airbus ( test and demo ) 2 ( 2 )

Cancelled ( freighters ) 2 ( 2 )

MSN065-SQ has been reported as ‘Parts Building’ so totals have been updated to include all MSNs up to and including this one.

The 35 planes in production are for these customers ;

EK 10, SQ 7, QF 5, AF 5, LH 4, CZ 2, KE 1, VIP 1

The parts for the two CZ planes will probably be redeployed to another MSN.

Deliveries to come are showing as 14 ( total 15 ) in 2009 and 22 in 2010. These look realistic given the current situation.

Just got from one of my sources a production list for A380 deliveries in 2009 and 2010.

(This was created with current information presumed on 2009 and 2010)

17 (Most likely 15)

Emirates 7x (5x) = 017, 023, 007, 028, 025, ( 009, 030 probably in 2010)
Singapore 4x = 021, 019, 034, 045
Qantas 4x = 026, 027, 029, 047, (050 most likely 2010)
Air France 2x = 033, 040

And for the 2010 a total of 19 plus probably a few more.

Lufthansa 7x = 038, 041 (Q1-2010), 044, 048 (Q2-2010), 061, 066, (Q3-2010) 076 (Q4-2010)
Singapoure 4x = 051, 065, 071, 073
Emirates 7x = 042, 046, 056, 057, 059, 060, 063 ( 03-2010 – 03-2011)
Qantas Not Known in 2010
Air France Not known in 2010
VIP Prince Al 1x = MSN002

And the 6th airline Korean Air there first aircraft MSN035 is unknown.

A380 Production Update: April 2009 (#9)

Just some updates. More photos of MSN007 for Emirates have cropped up. These show us that new doors have been attached and also new windows installed and new engines have the Emirates livery.As you can see new doors there. Escape slides still need to be installed. In other news MSN021 for Singapore Airlines has left the paint shop in Hamburg and is now sitting next to MSN017 for Emirates (Delivery this week) and will be delivered soon. MSN034 (Singapore) this week moved into the paint hall and MSN019 (Singapore) is almost finished in the paint hall and will be probably the next to come out after MSN026 (Qantas) but this may be delayed so MSN009could come out first. We have also had confirmation that the next convoy April 20-24th will be the second for Lufthansa MSN041.

MSN027 (F-WWSY) and MSN029 (F-WWSA) have arrived finally in Hamburg.

Hamburg is now very full with MSN017, MSN019, MSN021, MSN026, MSN027, MSN029, MSN033, MSN034 and MSN045. MSN017 for Emirates (A6-EDE) will most likely be delivered on April 24th. Back in Toulouse MSN023 for Emirates will start engine tests shortley.

A380 Production Update: March 2009 (#12)

Summing up the week. MSN027 (F-WWSY) the fifth for Qantas made its first fllight and will ferry to XFW on the 23rd March. Also for Qantas MSN029 (F-WWSA) has made its first engine and taxi tests and will hopefully fly before April. MSN027 and MSN029 are both scheduled to be delivered late Q3 or early Q4.
For Emirates there fifth (MSN017) A380 has made its first post outfitting flight in Hamburg and should be delivered in April.
Also Airbus announced this week that they target out of the 14 of 16 customers sales could reach 600 orders in the long run.

MSN023 (F-WWST) for Emirates has left the FAL and is now on the flightline. It will make its first engine and taxi runs in early to mid April and also expected to fly in April as well.
In other news MSN017 also for Emirates will be delivered on 24th April..
