Air France’s third A380 (MSN043) was finally delivered last week. This brings the total of A380s delivered to 27 with 4 of those being delivered in 2010.

A380 Production Update: March 2010 (#7)

MSN043 (Air France #3) has started Cabin Flight Testing in preparation for delivery in April. MSN043 cruised at altitudes over 42,000 feet and speeds of over 440 kts.

A380 Production Update: March 2010 (#6)

MSN043 (Air France #3) performed a Rejected Take Off test yesterday, in preparation for Cabin Test flights later this week.

MSN051 (Singapore Airlines #11) will perform it’s first Rejected Take Off test late next week, with delivery around early April.

Sorry everyone for there not being many updates in the last few weeks, There just hasn’t been any major movements of frames this month. Hopefully after Easter it will pick up some speed.

A380 Production Update: March 2010 (#3)

Convoy #4/2010 has arrived in Toulouse bringing a Center and Rear Fuselage for MSN071 (Singapore Airlines #14). A tail plane, also for MSN071 arrived with the convoy.

Convoy #4 also carried a Forward Fuselage and a Wing Pair for MSN064 (Air France #6).

This is a surprise to us as MSN066 (Lufthansa #6) and MSN031 (China Southern #1) were both scheduled to be convoyed ahead of MSN064.

In other A380 news, the roll out of MSN047 (Qantas #07), MSN048 (Lufthansa #4) and MSN052 (Air France #5) has been delayed into this week.

Several spotters have reported that MSN042 (Emirates #13) is on the flightline. We cannot confirm or deny this at this stage.

MSN043 (Air France #3) will begin cabin test flights in Hamburg this week. MSN043 is currently scheduled to be delivered later in the month.

MSN051 (Singapore Airlines #11) will also start cabin test flights soon. Test flights will probably start late this week or early next week.

March is here (Already) so we thought it would be a good idea to give you an overview of the current production line. So here it is…

Toulouse Production:
MSN002 (Private) – Currently in Refitting Hangar.
MSN042 (Emirates #13) – In Second Second Stage of Final Assembly and is Scheduled to Be Rolled Out in late March.
MSN047 (Qantas #7) – Engines Have Been Re Installed and Should Roll Out this week.
MSN048 (Lufthansa #4) – Completed and will be Rolled Out this week.
MSN050 (Qantas #8) – Being Stored in a Flightline Hangar until May.
MSN052 (Air France #5) – Completed and will be Rolled Out this week.
MSN055 (Qantas #9) – First Stage of Final Assembly. Parts of Final Assembly Will be done in a Flightline Hangar.
MSN056 (Emirates #14) – Second Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN057 (Emirates #15) – Waiting for slot in Second Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN058 (Singapore Airlines #12) – Waiting for Slot in First Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN061 (Lufthansa #5) – First Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN062 (Qantas #10) – First Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN065 (Singapore Airlines #13) – Body Join has Begun and is Scheduled to take 10 days.

First Stage of Final Assembly = Installation of Electronic Components that Control the Aircraft and Installation of Fuel Tanks.

Second Stage of Final Assembly = Installation of Engines, Belly Fairing and all other Facilities in and outside the Aircraft.

Roll Out = Moved from the Final Assembly Line to the Flightline.

A380 Production Update: February 2010 (#8)

MSN044 (Lufthansa #3) completed its first flight on the 15th February. MSN044 will be transferred to Hamburg for outfitting shortly.

MSN043 (Air France #3) has been rolled out of the Hamburg hangars and is now in final preparations before delivery in March.

Convoy #3/2010 will arrive in Toulouse tomorrow and allow MSN065 (Singapore Airlines #13) to begin Body Join.

A380 Production Update: October 2009 (#25)

Well today marks the fourth airline to recieve an Airbus A380. Air France took delivery of MSN033 at 11:00AM local time. MSN033 was then ferried to Paris at 2:00PM local time.

Air France’s second A380 (MSN040) is currently scheduled to be delivered in December 2009, With there third coming in January 2010.

A380 Production Update: October 2009 (#22)

This week a lot of delays have been announced in both sides of the production of the Airbus A380 (Toulouse and Hamburg).

First of all MSN041 the second for Lufhansa was scheduled to roll out of the Final Assembly Line this week and make its first flight around late November. But now we will not see MSN041 roll out of the Final Assembly Line until late November and is now scheduled to make its first flight on the 22nd December 2009 and then ferry to Hamburg on the 6th January 2009. This could be a problem for Lufthansa as they will not get MSN041 till unleast early June 2010. MSN041 was orignally sheduled for delivery on the 30th April 2010.

MSN030 (Emirates) has been delayed just over a week for a first and ferry flight. MSN030 will make its first flight on the 26th November and ferry to Hamurg on the 2nd December.

I am getting from various sources as well that other MSNs such as MSN044 (Lufthansa) and MSN046 (Emirates) will be getting delayed as well.

In Hamburg, MSN007 for Emirates will now be delivered in December. MSN007 was originally scheduled to be delivered in late November.

MSN025 (Emirates) and MSN043 (Air France) have now been delayed until January 2010. They were also scheduled for delivery in December.

A380s that are still scheduled to be delivered this year are MSN033 (Air France) this week, MSN007 (Emirates), MSN023 (Emirates),MSN027 (Qantas), MSN029 (Qantas), MSN040 (Air France). This would only make 12 A380s delivered this year. This would be the same number as last year.

But finally on a good note we can confirm that Convoy #14 was MSN056 (Emirates) and that Convoy #15 is MSN056 and MSN057 (Emirates)

The first picture of MSN043 (#3 for Air France) has made its way online. MSN043 will be delivered in December.

Also dates some dates have changed for first and ferry flights. (Dates are European Format)
MSN 041 (DLH) 1st flight 16/11/2009 and ferry flight 20/11/2009
MSN 044 (DLH) 1st flight 10/12/2009 and ferry flight 16/12/2009
MSN 046 (EK) 1st flight 02/12/2009 and ferry flight 08/12/2009
MSN 052 (AFR) 1st flight expected on 06/04/2010

MSN027 and MSN029 for Qantas delivery’s have been postponed until November 2009.
