Convoy #4/2010 has arrived in Toulouse bringing a Center and Rear Fuselage for MSN071 (Singapore Airlines #14). A tail plane, also for MSN071 arrived with the convoy.

Convoy #4 also carried a Forward Fuselage and a Wing Pair for MSN064 (Air France #6).

This is a surprise to us as MSN066 (Lufthansa #6) and MSN031 (China Southern #1) were both scheduled to be convoyed ahead of MSN064.

In other A380 news, the roll out of MSN047 (Qantas #07), MSN048 (Lufthansa #4) and MSN052 (Air France #5) has been delayed into this week.

Several spotters have reported that MSN042 (Emirates #13) is on the flightline. We cannot confirm or deny this at this stage.

MSN043 (Air France #3) will begin cabin test flights in Hamburg this week. MSN043 is currently scheduled to be delivered later in the month.

MSN051 (Singapore Airlines #11) will also start cabin test flights soon. Test flights will probably start late this week or early next week.

MSN049 (Air France #4) was transferred to Hamburg for Outfitting at the end of last week. MSN049 has quite a wait ahead, as there are no slots for Outfitting at the moment and wont be for a few weeks.

Last week we got an email with some very useful information in it. The email contained dates of notice in the A380 production line, and this week will be a big week.

We will see the roll out of MSN047 (Qantas #7), MSN048 (Lufthansa #4) and MSN052 (Air France #5). MSN047 will be transferred to Hamburg in the last week of March. First flight dates for MSN048 and MSN052 have not been announced yet.

MSN050 (Qantas #8) will be rolled out in April and be transferred to Hamburg for Outfitting in May.

MSN002 (Private) will be rolled out of the refitting hangars in late June/July. MSN002 will be delivered in August.

MSN049 (Air France #4) performed it’s first flight on the 22nd February.

It is unknown if MSN049 will be transferred to Hamburg in the next few days, as there are already nine A380s in Hamburg and with only six slots for Outfitting MSN049 may have to wait a while.

MSN047 (Qantas #7) had it’s #1 and #4 engine reinstalled late last week and should have it’s #2 and #3 engine installed this week. MSN047 made it’s first flight in August last year and was put in storage in Toulouse (Request from Qantas). It is currently scheduled to restart flight testing in late March.

MSN057 (Emirates #15) has finished it’s first part of Final Assembly which included having The flaps installed, Some Belly Fairing, the APU and many “Under the Hood” parts.

MSN057 is currently sitting on the flightline waiting to switch spaces with MSN048 (Lufthansa #4). MSN048 should be rolled out of the Final Assembly Line late this week.

The final parts for MSN057 arrived in Toulouse on the 12th November and has only taken 92 days to get to this stage. This is a dramatic increase in time for Body Join and the first stages of Final Assembly.

This also means the production in Toulouse is speeding up but over in Hamburg, Outfitting is staying very much the same.

We expect by late April that MSN042 (Emirates), MSN047 (Qantas), MSN050 (Qantas), MSN052 (Air France) and possibly MSN056 (Emirates) to be completed.

But at the same time all the Outfitting slots in Hamburg will be already be occupied by…

MSN030 (Emirates), MSN041 (Lufthansa), MSN044 (Lufthansa), MSN046 (Emirates) MSN048 (Lufthansa) and MSN049 (Air France).

This means that Outfitting must be dramatically increased to get the twenty odd scheduled A380s for 2010 delivery to actually being delivered this year.

Well some interesting news has arrived in Toulouse with the roll out of MSN042 (Emirates) minus it’s engines. It is waiting for MSN046 (Emirates – seen in FAL last week with engines attached) to exit the Final Assembly Line. MSN046 should leave the FAL next week.

Also noted was MSN047 (Qantas) on the flightline minus it’s storage primer but no engines. This could suggest that she will make the trip to Hamburg earlier then the original April 2010 schedule.

We can glady confirm that Convoy #17 has arrived and contains the forward fuselage section for Lufthansa’s 5th A380 (MSN061). The rest of this frame will arrive on the next covoy in early December.

MSN061Also we have managed to get a shot of MSN047 (Qantas) on the flightline this week. You can only see the top of the frame though.

We can sadly confirm that MSN030 (Emirates) has been put into a flightline hangar until late December and leaves MSN047 on the flightline with none of its engines attached. This is a first in a long, long time for the A380 having no production A380s with engines attached on the flightline.

Just a quick not on a picture that came up this week of MSN050 for Qantas which is one of two Qantas A380s in Toulouse in storage until Q2 2010. As you can see in the picture MSN050 still has its engines attached and has a yellow storage primer. But the other Qantas A380 does not have its engines but has a yellow storage primer. Both of them are scheduled for delivery in Q4 2010.
