Yesterday, Air France’s sixth A380 (MSN064) performed her first flight. This was no ordinary first flight, in fact it marked a major milestone for the A380 program. MSN064 just happens to be the fiftieth A380 constructed.

All of us here at A380 Production would like to congratulate Airbus and everyone involved in the A380 program on getting to this milestone.

Both MSN064 and MSN052 (Air France #5) will be stored in Toulouse until a spot opens up in the outfitting bays in Hamburg.

Final Assembly Line – Update
:

Lufthansa’s sixth A380 (MSN066) had it’s first engine installed this week. We don’t expect to see MSN066 on the flightline until the end of September.

Air France’s fifth A380 (MSN052) has finally performed her first flight.

First flight occurred yesterday. She is now on the flightline, waiting for a spot to open up in Hamburg.

Updates from Hamburg:

Air France’s fourth A380 (MSN049) was delivered on Thursday, exactly one year after she was convoyed to Toulouse

Emirates’s twelfth A380 (MSN046) is planned for delivery on Thursday.

Emirates’s thirteenth A380 (MSN042) has been spotted fully painted on the Hamburg flightline. Delivery is expected in September.

A lot of people have been asking us, “what is going on with Air France’s fifth A380 (MSN052)?”.

Well to tell you the truth, we have no idea. She was rolled out in late May and has been on the flightline or the flightline hangars ever since. The latest schedule still states it will be transferred to Hamburg in August, But we wouldn’t be surprised if it slipped into September/October.

Late last week, Emirates eleventh A380 (MSN030) was delivered to the airline at a ceremony in Toulouse.

This now makes Emirates the largest operator of the A380 with eleven SuperJumbo’s in its fleet, while Singapore Airlines has ten, Qantas has six, Air France has three and Lufthansa has one.

Late last week also saw the return of MSN052 (Air France #5) to the flightline. MSN052 had been spending the last month or two in the flightline hangars where she had some Final Assembly work done.

A photo has been uploaded to flickr which is giving us a good look at what is going on in the “Stage 2″ area of Final Assembly.

The three frames that can be seen in this photo are MSN065 (Singapore Airlines #13), MSN064 (Air France #6) and MSN071 (Singapore Airlines #14). All of these frames still have quite a lot of work to go, So we won’t expect to see them on the flightline for a month or two.

We can confirm that MSN057 (Emirates #15) will be the next A380 to transfer to Hamburg, as MSN052 (Air France #5) still has part of it’s APU missing and MSN055 (Qantas #9) is missing at least one escape slide.
