A380 Production Update: October 2010 (#12)

Emirates sixteenth A380 (MSN077) has been confirmed as the new frame being transported on Convoy #19/2010.

Up until last week we had thought that MSN060 was going to become Emirates sixteenth A380, however it has since been confirmed that MSN060 will not be built and that MSN077 will take it’s place.

Currently only the forward and rear fuselages, along with the wings are en route to Toulouse. The center fuselage and tail plane will arrive on Convoy #20/2010 in three weeks time.

A380 Production Update: October 2010 (#7)

Convoy #19/2010 has been announced and is scheduled to begin on October 25th.

The convoy will be carrying a complete frame with the center fuselage and tailplane for Singapore Airlines fifteenth A380 (MSN076) and the forward fuselage, rear fuselage and wing pair for an unknown MSN.

We expect the new MSN to be Emirates’s sixteenth A380 (MSN060), as it is the last Q3 2011 frame to be transfered to Toulouse.

A380 Production Update: September 2010 (#1)

Yesterday marked the beginning of the fifteenth Convoy for 2010. Convoy #15 departed “Langon” at 22:00 local time.

The components being transported are…

Center Fuselage (MSN031 – China Southern #1)
Forward Fuselage, Rear Fuselage, Wing Pair, Tailplane (Unknown MSN – Speculations – MSN060 (Emirates), MSN063 (Qantas))

Convoy #15 will arrive in Toulouse on September 2nd, at around 01:00.

A380 Production Update: July 2010 (#12)

Several aviation forums are reporting that Emirates will be suspending A380 deliveries in 2011. We cannot yet confirm or deny this, but current production schedules still state that the airline will receive three A380s in Q3/Q4 2011 (MSN060, MSN077, and MSN080).

If Emirates were to suspend deliveries, it would halt deployment of the A380 on key routes such as Dubai-Melbourne and Dubai-Singapore.

Over in Toulouse, Singapore Airlines’ twelfth A380 (MSN058) successfully performed her first flight; it was also her ferry flight to Hamburg for cabin outfitting.

A380 Production Update: June 2010 (#5)

With Convoy #10/2011 finishing it’s long journey, Convoy #11/2010 has just been announced. It is scheduled to begin on June 21st and finish June 24th. The convoy will be carrying complete frame for a yet unknown MSN.
