Convoy #4/2010 has arrived in Toulouse bringing a Center and Rear Fuselage for MSN071 (Singapore Airlines #14). A tail plane, also for MSN071 arrived with the convoy.

Convoy #4 also carried a Forward Fuselage and a Wing Pair for MSN064 (Air France #6).


This is a surprise to us as MSN066 (Lufthansa #6) and MSN031 (China Southern #1) were both scheduled to be convoyed ahead of MSN064.

In other A380 news, the roll out of MSN047 (Qantas #07), MSN048 (Lufthansa #4) and MSN052 (Air France #5) has been delayed into this week.

Several spotters have reported that MSN042 (Emirates #13) is on the flightline. We cannot confirm or deny this at this stage.

MSN043 (Air France #3) will begin cabin test flights in Hamburg this week. MSN043 is currently scheduled to be delivered later in the month.

MSN051 (Singapore Airlines #11) will also start cabin test flights soon. Test flights will probably start late this week or early next week.

March is here (Already) so we thought it would be a good idea to give you an overview of the current production line. So here it is…

Toulouse Production:
MSN002 (Private) – Currently in Refitting Hangar.
MSN042 (Emirates #13) – In Second Second Stage of Final Assembly and is Scheduled to Be Rolled Out in late March.
MSN047 (Qantas #7) – Engines Have Been Re Installed and Should Roll Out this week.
MSN048 (Lufthansa #4) – Completed and will be Rolled Out this week.
MSN050 (Qantas #8) – Being Stored in a Flightline Hangar until May.
MSN052 (Air France #5) – Completed and will be Rolled Out this week.
MSN055 (Qantas #9) – First Stage of Final Assembly. Parts of Final Assembly Will be done in a Flightline Hangar.
MSN056 (Emirates #14) – Second Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN057 (Emirates #15) – Waiting for slot in Second Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN058 (Singapore Airlines #12) – Waiting for Slot in First Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN061 (Lufthansa #5) – First Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN062 (Qantas #10) – First Stage of Final Assembly.
MSN065 (Singapore Airlines #13) – Body Join has Begun and is Scheduled to take 10 days.

Hamburg Production:
MSN009 (Emirates #9) – Delivery Scheduled for May.
MSN028 (Emirates #10) – Delivery Scheduled for June.
MSN030 (Emirates #11) – Delivery Scheduled for July.
MSN038 (Lufthansa #1) – Delivery Scheduled for 10th May.
MSN041 (Lufthansa #2) – Delivery Scheduled for June.
MSN043 (Air France #3) – Delivery Scheduled for April.
MSN044 (Lufthansa #3) – Delivery Scheduled for Q3 2010.
MSN046 (Emirates #12) – Delivery Scheduled for August.
MSN049 (AIr France #4) – Delivery Scheduled for Q3 2010,
MSN051 (Singapore Airlines #11) – Delivery Scheduled for Late March.

Convoy’s:
The next new frames to be Convoyed to Toulouse are scheduled to be.
MSN031 (China Southern #1)
MSN066 (Lufthansa #6)
MSN069 (Lufthansa #7)
MSN035 (Korean Air #1)

First Stage of Final Assembly = Installation of Electronic Components that Control the Aircraft and Installation of Fuel Tanks.

Second Stage of Final Assembly = Installation of Engines, Belly Fairing and all other Facilities in and outside the Aircraft.

Roll Out = Moved from the Final Assembly Line to the Flightline.

A380 Production Update: November 2009 (#19)

Airbus is trying to keep MSN007 and MSN023 (Emirates) on track for a 2009 delivery but there has been some onboard system problems. The latest Airbus schedule still states a December delivery for both, But Airbus is fearing they might slip into 2010.

MSN027 (Qantas) has arrived back in Toulouse for a final check prior to delivery in mid December.

Our forum member UK380 has once again visited the Hamburg production line there are some interesting entries. Here is the list of MSN parts that were seen.

MSN039 (Korean Air) – Rear Fuselage
MSN055 (Qantas) – Center Fuselage

Lufthansa have updated their delivery dates for the A380. Instead of March now MSN038 (1st) will be delivered in May. Here is the list.

D-AIMD – MSN048 – 30.09.2010

This week Lufthansa announced its delivery schedule for there A380’s. There first MSN038 will be delivered in March (As planned).

D-AIMA (038) 31/03/10
D-AIMB (041) 30/04/10
D-AIMC (044) 31/05/10
D-AIMD (048) 30/06/10
D-AIME (061) 31/07/10
D-AIMF (066) 28/02/11
D-AIMG (069) 31/03/11
D-AIMH (070) 30/04/11
D-AIMI (072) 31/05/11
D-AIMJ (073) 30/06/11

This would mean that MSN061 would have to arrive in Toulouse on either Convoy #12 or #13 to make that schedule.

A member on our forum has pointed out that MSN051 for Singapore Airlines has a Qantas nacelle on its #4 engine.

Here are some more updates from the Hamburg open day.

The rear section for the 6th A380 for Lufthansa (MSN066) is looking close to finishing.

Also the fifth A380 (MSN061) for Lufthansa’s forward fuselage is taking shape.

Here is the forward fuselage for MSN055 the ninth A380 for Qantas.

And here is the forward fuselage for MSN057 (Emirates)

Back to Toulouse one of our forum members mhettic went on a production tour and gave us a little report in the current situation. (

MSN038 (Lufthansa)
There is no scaffolding around, except behind the wings and besides the vertical fin. Nacelles have been completed since we saw the last pictures and she looks like she will be rolled out of the FAL in the next few days.

MSN046 (Emirates)
There is only a small part of the vertical fin uncovered the rest is complete.
No engines installed and no engines around in working places. The pylons of engines #3 and #4 are open, number 1 and 2 not visible (behind fuselage). Belly fairing structure is installed, but uncovered. All flaps and slats seem to be installed.

MSN030 (Emirates)
The vertical fin is partially uncovered. Belly fairing is missing, no engines installed and
lots of scaffolding around.

And last but not least MSN045 for Singapore Airlines was delivered on Sunday.

Just got from one of my sources a production list for A380 deliveries in 2009 and 2010.

(This was created with current information presumed on 2009 and 2010)

17 (Most likely 15)

Emirates 7x (5x) = 017, 023, 007, 028, 025, ( 009, 030 probably in 2010)
Singapore 4x = 021, 019, 034, 045
Qantas 4x = 026, 027, 029, 047, (050 most likely 2010)
Air France 2x = 033, 040

And for the 2010 a total of 19 plus probably a few more.

Lufthansa 7x = 038, 041 (Q1-2010), 044, 048 (Q2-2010), 061, 066, (Q3-2010) 076 (Q4-2010)
Singapoure 4x = 051, 065, 071, 073
Emirates 7x = 042, 046, 056, 057, 059, 060, 063 ( 03-2010 – 03-2011)
Qantas Not Known in 2010
Air France Not known in 2010
VIP Prince Al 1x = MSN002

And the 6th airline Korean Air there first aircraft MSN035 is unknown.
