A380 Production Update: May 2012 (#8)

Yesterday, Airbus delivered Lufthansa’s ninth A380 (MSN072) at a ceremony in Hamburg.

This is Lufthansa’s first A380 delivery for the year, with another one (MSN073) expected in a few weeks.

A380 Production Update: November 2011 (#11)

Yesterday, Lufthansa’s tenth A380 (MSN073) began taxi testing.

She is expected to perform her first flight next week, and join her sister ship (MSN072) in Hamburg as well.

Yesterday, Lufthansa’s ninth A380 (MSN072) performed her first flight.

She is expected to be ferried to Hamburg next week.

Delivery to the airline is scheduled for April 2012.

Yesterday, Lufthansa’s ninth A380 (MSN072) began taxi testing.

She is expected to perform her first flight early next week, and Lufthansa expects delivery in Q2 2012.

Yesterday, Lufthansa’s tenth A380 (MSN073) completed final assembly and was moved to the flightline.

She took just fifteen weeks to complete assembly, the same amount of time as her sister ship, MSN072.

Yesterday, Lufthansa’s ninth A380 (MSN072) completed final assembly, and was moved to the flightline.

She took fifteen weeks to complete, which is the fastest Lufthansa frame yet.

Yesterday, Lufthansa’s ninth A380 (MSN072) was spotted on the final assembly line.

This photo was taken as she was being moved from position 32A to 30A.

She is expected to complete final assembly in early October.

The tail for Lufthansa’s ninth A380 (MSN072) has arrived in Toulouse for assembly.

The tail arrived in Toulouse on an Airbus Beluga.

A380 Production Update: June 2011 (#23)

Lufthansa’s ninth A380 (MSN072) has been confirmed as the new frame being carried on Convoy #13/2011.

This is the first Lufthansa frame to enter production since the airline’s eighth (MSN069) was convoyed in June 2010.

MSN072 will enter body join next week.

With Convoy #10/2011 finishing it’s long journey, Convoy #11/2010 has just been announced. It is scheduled to begin on June 21st and finish June 24th. The convoy will be carrying complete frame for a yet unknown MSN.
