Earlier today, Malaysia Airlines’ first A380 (MSN078) was ferried to Hamburg.

She used call sign AIB02SU and was last seen parked on the flightline.
Delivery to the airline is scheduled for June 2012.

BREAKING NEWS:
Malaysia Airlines’ first A380 (MSN078) has completed final assembly, and is currently sitting on the flight-line.

She took just fifteen weeks to complete assembly, which is three weeks faster than China Southern’s first A380 (MSN031).
Flight testing will begin in October, with delivery to the airline in June 2012.

Earlier this week, Malaysia Airlines’ first A380 (MSN078) began the “Body Join” stage of production. All major components will be joined over the next fourteen days, before she is moved into “Final Assembly”.

The current Airbus schedule has this frame being handed over to Malaysia Airlines in April 2012. London is expected to be the first route served by the A380, with Sydney and Melbourne to follow.
